I enjoyed this first impression; the story doesn't waste any time in getting started and moves along at a good rate.
We already know that Emily's neighbour disappeared without a trace and that Emily's father has dementia. Those two facts alone are enough of a foundation to build a story on, so we'll see where it goes...
