This is a good read, a likeable narrator and a fantastic setting. This is a new setting for me, the countryside of New Zealand, and it is well drawn by the author. Sometimes the Alzheimer's theme can feel a little worn, being used frequently lately in stories in print and on screen. As this is a mystery I think that may add another layer to the story. The writer's ability to move the story back into the past and fill in back story is very nicely done. My only issue is probability. The narrator has twin siblings living in the same area as her father in New Zealand, yet she flies thousands of miles as it's suggested only she can help. There, I fell credulity is stretched a little. However there is plenty to hook the reader and the fate of a young woman, a past mystery, will no doubt provide much of the focus of the novel. This is a good read, well paced with a confiding tone.
