Leah vanished many years ago, and her disappearance rocked a small, close community. Was there anyone in the neighbourhood who knew what had happened, or was she still alive and living somewhere else? This tense page-turner had me hooked from the start. Emily returns from abroad to care for her father, who has dementia, despite the fact that the family has twins who live nearby. We have sibling rivalry here, with the older children believing they should be in charge.
The plot revolves around family life, Alzheimer's and Huntington's Disease, and end-of-life care.
Overall, this is a thought-provoking, well-written book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
This is the first time I've read a book by Charity Norman, and I'll definitely be looking for more.
the cover is also really beautiful which is appealing to me and will look nice on the shelf
