This book is a real page turner and I could not put it down.
The story is mostly set in New Zealand and the year 2019.Leah disappeared 25 years ago and Emily was the last person to speak to her.The story flips between 2019 and 1994.
Emily did not have a close relationship with her Dad(Felix is a retired Doctor and a pillar of the community) but she gets a call from her Dads neighbour that he is not coping.
Emily's Dad has Alzheimers and is deteriorating. Her brother and sister want to put him in a home.
Emily returns to New Zealand to care for her Dad.As his memory fades he let slip some of his secret.
The story touches on family life,Alzheimers and Huntingtons Disease and end of life care.
Overall this is a well written thought provoking book which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is the first time that I have read a book written by Charity Norman and will definitely look out for more.
