I enjoyed the premise to this story and on the whole, the novel didn’t disappoint. I felt myself compelling to read on to see what happens and to work out (or try to!) what the story is. I do like the style of Charity Norman’s writing and this is another quintessentially Norman novel so perfect for her ever increasing fan base.

I enjoyed the character developments most. I like to read a book and gel with them and this was the case for this book indeed. It started off as feeling like a mystery novel but it really is so much more than that, spanning themes like family, betrayal secrecy, all resulting in a good book to read on a dreary day.

Overall, I am grateful that I had the opportunity to read this and would recommend it to others. It does make you stop and think about families and the things that are important to us all that we can take for granted.
