Millicent (Missy) is widowed and lives alone wishing for company but not seeming to know how to make the most of opportunities being offered. Her son and young grandson live in Australia and have just returned there after spending Christmas with Missy, resulting in an increased sense of isolation. Something has happened between Missy and her daughter ("that day....") leading to them being estranged. But Missy inadvertently meets a friendly lady in the park.........will she take the hand of friendship being offered?
