I don't usually pick up books that have a much older main character, purely because I worry I won't be able to gel with the main character and that the age gap will be a barrier for me engaging with the story.
However, I enjoyed the excerpt of this book and I am intrigued to find out more about Missy. I also really liked the cover and found it refreshing to have an illustration of an older main character. While the cover is quite muted in the colour palette used, I felt it reflected the story quite well and is one I know would look good on a bookshelf.
