Reading the first impression of the book, you can instantly connect with the protagonist. We can all, especially in these times, appreciate the slightly cynical outlook that the main character exudes. It is almost as if her impressions are what we are all thinking, but don't necessarily say. The author writes lovely descriptions and goes into the right amount of detail to allow you to visualise, but not get caught up in the finite details.
