I already have one thing in common with Missy so far, which is great; we both share a grief of David Bowie... despite not knowing half of his music. I love how lighthearted and whimsical this novel is, but it often hints at a few poignant things that I am very interested in finding out more about! Through Sylvie, this novel shows that a small act of kindness can go a long way for someone as lonely as Missy. Although you can tell Missy is uncomfortable by Sylvie’s invitations and interactions at first, her confidence has already grown and it is so fulfilling to read. I hope that she becomes ever more confident in herself as she becomes closer to Sylvie. Overall, I would say this is delightfully written to present a sweet and humorous mood, and I can’t wait to read more.
