I tend to favour YA and NA novels, but this adult story is so tender that I got used to it in just a few pages. I like Missy's voice, her independence, her character. She reminds me a lot of my grandmother, and I find that really soothing.

I'm not very captivated by the writing yet, I feel it to be a little too stream-of-consciousness. But I'm thinking it gets better as the story goes on and picks up some pace.

The cover is really sweet. In a way, it was the first thing that made me sure I would want to read the story. Because a book hiding behind such a relaxing palette of colours and soft drawings often turns out to be a nice, gentle read.
