I am going to admit, that from looking at the cover and reading the title & blurb, I wasn’t too sure this was going to be a book that I particularly enjoy. I normally prefer more action-based novels however it is nice to have a change, and I was impressed by this novel.
The novel follows Missy, and her journey of recovering from grief, isolation and loneliness. The book was beautifully written; just the perfect amount of detail. I thought the writing style really represented the character; I truly felt that I was Missy living her life. This shows a great writing ability from the author.
We get quite an ‘info dump’ in the first few chapters about Missy’s past but it didn’t feel too forced. I am certain that we will see into her past more and notice some great character development.
This seems like a novel that I can learn a lot from. I am incredibly interested and excited to read this book.
