This story is about an elderly woman called Missy who severely misses a person called Leo. The first 4 chapters slowly reveals who Leo is, which first has me asking questions like, who is he? What happened to him? He is mentioned a lot by Missy throughout which shows they were very close, and it then reveals that he was the father of her children who have now left her. This shows that she is a women who severely misses having her husband around, making her really happy.
There is a sad tone to this book with some occasional funny lines, for example when “i don’t know what I’m doing with this pulse nonsense” is said.
Overall i really enjoyed the first four chapters of this book, and i love the fact that is has actual people (David Bowie and Alan Rickman) who unfortunately passed away, which hit the people of the world hard. I also enjoyed when her grandfather was telling her a story during the time of the war, it made me want to know more of his stories, even if they aren’t true, because he seems like a character who would be nice to know about.
