Every happy memory Missy has is accompanied by a sad reminder, that she no longer has the life she used to. She is trying a lot of new things, not because she wants to, but because she wants her children to think she is interesting. But in her older age, she is finding it difficult. The observation of electro-fishing suddenly becomes too much for her, triggering something that she has pushed down for a long time. She seems to think so little of herself which is heartbreaking. Missy is a troubled soul, and as the reader you feel awful knowing there is nothing you can do to help her. I can't wait to read the rest and see how her life pans out.
