I have been wanting to read this book since it first came out, it’s been very much talked about. The cover and the concept were both appealing to me. The book starts with us getting to know Missy, short for Millicent, at 79 she lives alone and seems very sad, with no friends and with her family elsewhere she leads a lonely life. She was so well described, I could really feel her emotions. We get to follow Missy as she walks in the local park and begins to make friends, this doesn’t come very easily, much like I’m sure it would be true in real life in this situation. We learn more about Missy and get to see more of her character, her past which is quite well tucked away and more of her happier side when it is unleashed, this is what I enjoyed. As the story goes on we go on little adventures with Missy, these are quite heart-warming moments. I enjoyed this book and would definitely read more by this author.
