Every now and then a book will take me by surprise. This book was one. It was totally not what I expected and swept me up and pulled me in. I was instantly gripped and devoured most of the book in one sitting.

Missy is lonely, her husband is gone, her son abroad, her daughter not on good terms. By chance, she meets some people and becomes entwined in their lives. She builds a new place for herself, gets a job at 79 and begins to change the way she lives her life.

The whole book had me captivating. The ending took me by complete surprise. It was totally not what I was expecting at all but was actually perfect. It's very rare that I finish a book and feel like everything has come to a close but this was exactly that. It was wonderful, I loved it and will be recommending it to others. A form of pure escapism that really made me realise that a smile or quick chat with someone to you can mean the world to them. So many people have no one and especially currently any interaction can mean the world to them. Beautifully written
