Beth Morrey's debut book Saving Missy is beautifully written and really makes you fall in love with Missy, the 79 year old protagonist. I can't believe that this is her debut book. I was not able to put this book down, it is written so nicely it was easy to speed through. The characters were so great so that helps. It was a real rollercoaster of emotions, it made me feel happy for Missy as well as sad. While Missy is alone she is able to find her true self through the story of the book. I feel that since people are now spending more time with the people they love they are able to relate, also for people that have not been with their family during the past lock downs. The writing style is so good and having flashbacks that show Missy's past with Leo and how she has come to be. Also the cover is lovely! People need to read this book as it's just a joy to read.
