Giving it all the stars...

If I could give this book more than five stars I happily would, having absolutely devoured the tale of Saving Missy in under 24 hours. The worst thing was the horrible dilemma of wanting to keep reading, but also not wanting it to end either.

Missy is approaching 80 and heading into lonely years without family or friends around her. But then things begin to change...

This book is a timely reminder of the power of friendship, of community, of finding joy in the smallest of things and just how amazing dogs are too!

I loved Missy; I loved how whilst her age was referred to, it also didn't define her. She was no stereotype of a 'little old woman', but rather a character I became so fond of - along with the other strong female characters in the book.

The friendships between the women was also something I thoroughly enjoyed. None of the characters are perfect, they have flaws, they make mistakes, they are beautifully imperfect - making for perfect company whilst reading.
