i enjoyed this book it gave me hope and broke my heart, missy is in her late 70's and lonely, her son lives in Australia with her grandson and she hardly speaks to her daughter after a falling out, this book is essentially about 2nd chances, after a funny turn in the park missy makes some new friends, and along with a dog she ends up looking after they builder up, help her overcome the events of her past and make her realise just how much she has to offer, they all have set backs in their lives but the friendships they have built get they thought it all, i don't normally get emotional over books but there were moments that literally brought a tear to my eye, it is so easy to get swept up the emotions, maybe more than usual after the year we have all had, there is a strong theme throughout about letting the past go and focussing on what matters now, loneliness can effect everyone and sometimes you need to lust put yourself out there (maybe after a push) and good things can happen this is a lesson i think we should all take on board as life slowly stats to go back to normal.
