This is a lovely book. The cover is beautiful and really well done. I can see that to many people, this reminded them of Eleanor Oliphant -- I am yet to read that book, so cannot really comment.

The book read well, it brought on a wide range of emotions. I would say that it was heartwarming, but at the same time also a bit sad, a bit thought-provoking, at times it made me angry and upset as Missy is not an easy character, but ultimately you end up liking her.

I found the side characters were perhaps more likeable than Missy, it might just be that I could relate to them more. Let's not forget the lovely dog -- it just shows that dogs are your best friend and even a complex person like Missy got some wonderful company from Bobby.

Overall, I think this is a nice book. Perfect for when you are feeling a bit nostalgic and melancholic, something that can be read in a couple of evenings. Now I should read Eleanor as well.
