Well what a lovely book. Missy or Millicent’ as she is named is a lovely lonely old woman who’s existence is just plodding about till she has an encounter in the park. Not revealing too much but the story evolves back and forth about the life she had and the life she lives now. She has a run down old house in need of some TLC and how this comes about you see in the story. I love the way she has a sharp mind and is quite formidable as the story goes along yous see who she has been and who she becomes. It proves that although we have family it’s sometimes strangers who give us the love and care that we need. I love the way the story goes back and forth from her early years and comes up to date almost testing her now ageing years. Like so many stories it uplifted me and also saddened me when we see how our lives could of been and what they have become. I loved this book and was sad to finish it. If there one book you should read if you like people watching and walking in the park this one is it! Loved it!
