This was just a really nice feel-good read. I was almost sad to be leaving these lovely people behind at the end. The writing style is easy to read but not simplistic and I really enjoyed the storyline. The characters (or most of them) are likeable and I could really identify with them, living vicariously through them, not wanting to leave their world in a way. The images I got from the writing were clear almost vivid, I was really able to imagine what everything looked like and how it would feel to be there, meet the people in the community, to the point where I wanted more details, get to know everyone better. And then of course there is the closeness to the pets which I could really identify with since they are part of your family, just like your children or your partner. Despite a few sad moments, which are needed I think, a very enjoyable read.
