Missy is lonely, this comes across very well in the book.
The author also delves into the the past of Missy. This happens quite a lot in the book, back and forth.
The story is a nice one, Missy at 79 is lonely and then a chance encounter in a park she makes friends.
A warm story about community and friendship. The friends bring Missy out of her shell and comfort zone.
How her relationship with her son and daughter is all explored. Missy son and family are in Australia, so far away. It also becomes apparent that she doesn't get on with her daughter.
I enjoyed reading this book and how Missy emerges, after all she had been caring for her family all her life, which most of us do.
The story also tells how caring for a pet can also bring comfort and companionship.
There is a part in the book which I did not care for and should of come with a warning. Ill just say Bob.
