This book is primarily about murder, a serial killer. Running all through the story and connected to this are tales of abuse that are hidden, of damaged people and their later relationships. There are also more optimistic new relationships, new partners and young love. The characters are very well described, for example the detective and the ex wife who still have feelings for each other, the pathologist, the daughter and her new boyfriend, the illegals, the perpetrators of the murders and abuse. Gradually the truth comes out as all the threads are woven together seamlessly into a story I did not want to put down. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well written thriller.
