I enjoyed this book which was different in many aspects from the recent glut of stories featuring police detectives and pathologists.
Ben Wade, the detective, and his wife and daughter, have returned to his home town from the stress and violence of LA in order to try and save his rocky marriage. After five years of relative peace and calm, a serial thriller strikes. Unresolved issues from Ben's childhood also need Ben's attention.
This plot is well written and easy to read. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was that I couldn't completely identify with Ben and some of the other characters and I felt there were one or two issues which weren't properly resolved by the end - perhaps that's just like real life!
