I must admit that I was about to give up on this book. It took me a lot longer to read this than it usually takes me to get through a book because it seems to take a long time to get going.
That said, even though the beginning was slow I liked how the author transports the reader back to the 80’s and leaves you reminiscing.
I ended up very glad I hadn’t given up though, fallible and likeable cop Ben hasn’t had an easy life himself and his own vulnerability and past made me route for him all the more as he and Natasha work together to catch a killer who has targeted his home town, murdering people in the one place they ought to feel safe.
The race to the end was a rollercoaster of a ride and I will certainly be looking out for more books by Alan Drew.
