I had never heard of Michael Emmett before reading this book so went in with a blind eye. I really enjoyed his story and liked how it told the stories of his childhood to his present day life. The latter half of the book was especially heart wrenching to me as Michael begun his journey of recovery. The reason why I’m only giving this book 3stars is because I felt like some parts of his life lacked detail and more could’ve been said about specific events. Also, one event would be mentioned and then a new one would be mentioned straight after with no link between the two. This was quite apparent in the first half of the book but the latter half definetely kept me drawn in and wanting to know what kind of person Michael was to become after finding God and leaving prison. I could definetely feel Michael’s words when talking about his family especially his mother and all in all would recommended this book to others!
