I like the cover of Sins of Fathers, and the concept of this book. I was really looking forward to reading this; it’s a very honest and open biography of Michael Emmett’s life, right down to every detail of the crimes he committed and his relationships with partners, his family, his connections and his friends. I found the text to be a slower pace than I’d have liked at times. I actually think the book could have worked with diary entries or recollections of those events with more detail, more than the format it’s in, which feels like a list of events which are sometimes not described much, and I’d like to have known more about them. Michael is so honest and lays all of his life out for the reader, I very much admire his honesty with not only the events he admits to but, also to his feelings. An interesting read and unlike things I’ve read before.
