Although I love how open and honest Michael is in during this book I found it to very dark. To begin with I found myself emotional at hearing about his younger days and the emotional times he went through. He then moved onto begin discussing his days in prison and how whilst there he found God and began to practise as a Christian. Overall I thought the book wasn’t written particularly organised and I found it quite hard to follow in some places. He wasn’t writing about a happy subject and perhaps the publisher decided to leave in the scattered sentences and thoughts to make it more real - almost as if Michael is talking but I struggled to get to the end. Michael isn’t a good person growing up. He’s made a lot of bad choices and the idea of leaving his family and kids so many times is awful. Maybe you can argue that he was led into the life by his father but he made his own choices
