This isn't normally the genre that I would read. I love a crime fiction or thriller but never bring myself to read true crime. This book has opened my eyes to a new genre. The fact that all these experiences happened in real life show the reality that some people have to face. As expected it was a very dark read in many places but the truth and honesty in the way that it is all written brings me as the reader so much closer to what was happening.
Some people may find this read very tough and there are plenty of triggers that many readers might find hard to read. Seeing the life of someone change through the years within a book is interesting enough but when that person happens to be recalling actual events it grips me even more. This book was definitely worth the read and I would recommend it to people that like an autobiography and also people that need to be reminded that things can get better.
