This book was an incredible insight into the criminal world! The fact that it was a true story made the book so captivating because in the back of your mind you are constantly thinking that this was someone’s life.
I think this story is a perfect example of how not matter what’s going on in you're life, only you can make a change by taking the first step which is very motivating in its own way. This book perfectly highlights the idea that you never really know what’s going on in someone’s head and the internal battles that they could be fighting.
I’m not exactly sure how one book could be so heart wrenching yet so touching but this book really does just that. Emmett was so incredibly honest in this book that you begin to realise how vulnerable he must’ve been. I was so proud to find out that Michael is now reformed and is helping others to “find their own paths to peace”. So inspiring
