The cover of the book drew me in straight away, the bright bold font, the way the illustration is set out to be a playing card, I had to find out more.
It took me a long time to read this book, not because i wasn't interested but i had a lot happen in my personal life at once that i lost interest in reading. I finally picked up this book i started months ago and started from the begining.
The book has a dragonball z vibe and harry potter too, it was slick, stylish and witty in all the right places, i was hooked as the further ahead i got the more the story unravelled revealing just how messed up Kellens seemingly perfect life was. I was shocked to learn of the history of his people but fascinated at the lengths they went to in order to survive.
I thouroughly enjoyed it and i cannot wait to read the next one.
