There are some YA books that can be read at any age and Spellslinger is one of them. Magic is captivating for audiences at all ages - though I may be heavily influenced by movies about Houdini. Reading stories about any type of magic really makes you stop and wish it were real or at least in that moment, believe in magic. What makes this book so disarmingly charming is Sebastien de Castell's humour and wit as well as his world-building. Interesting characters with a legacy at stake really builds up suspense for what comes next in their adventure but making them funny is a surefire way to endear readers to their trials and tribulations. Sebastien de Castell has managed to get me invested this wonderful adventure and I am delighted.
