It's confusing at first. The storytelling is flip flopping a bit and you are overwhelmed with names to begin with and foreign words. But once you get into it it's really appalling. Set with a boy among mages and his inability to perform spells really makes you feel for him and want to follow and see how it ends. Thrown into a duel first chapter in you know it will be a challenge but something good has to happen for it or it would be a really short book. His use of narrative from the mind of the character really sets the mood and tone, and the last line is heartbreaking and you want to read on to know how he will come out and go on to the next challenge. My only thought is. Damn you little sisters!
