First of all, the plot was amazing. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The characters are funny and lovable, and very relatable. I wanted to slap them and hug them... They kept me embraced in the story. It has everything that makes a fantasy book amazing: A funny and sassy animal friend, a strong female as a big part of the story, an amazing magic system, a well written plot twist, and a protagonist that isn’t especially perfect, in fact, he has many flaws, but these are flaws that make him human.
But! Even though I truly enjoyed the story, there was a small problem, and it was that the writing style. Sadly it was not my cup of tea. I had some trouble getting into the book because of it, but keep in mind that that it is really about every individual’s taste in writing.
