Spellslinger is about 15 year old Kellan who’s 16th birthday is approaching and he’s yet to master any magic. He has to prove himself by passing 3 trials in order to not be disgraced in his clan and to avoid becoming and non-magic servant.
This book has a strong opening as we’re immediately thrown into the action with the main character participating in a duel with a rival far more advanced at magic that he is. This gets you hooked very quickly and has you flying through it.
The writing style is easy to read so you can easily get into the book and the pacing is good. So far the characters seem interesting and I can’t wait to read this to see how they’re developed. I will definitely read this book in the future.
