When I first got this is was obviously the cover what immediately drew me in as it is really colourful and looks magical.
The book follows teenager Kellen who is about to take part in his mage's trial but his magic has gone so he is at a loss at what to do. That is until Ferius Parfax comes along and even though she is extremely hardwork and unpredictable she may be the only person who can help Kellen.
I didn't feel as connected to Kellen as I initially thought I would unfortunately, but I liked Ferius so she helped me finish this book as I don't think I cared about Kellen enough.
Overall I was quite disappointed with this book because the cover is amazing but unfortunately the contents inside doesn't live up to it.
