Magic duels are always a fantastic start 🤣
My thoughts after the first chapter:
A great start! The magic system seems solid so far and I really want to learn more about it. I love Kellen's character already, he's kinda sarcastic (which I love) and ready to do anything to get those bands. I especially loved that it started with the rules of the school and got straight in with the duel rather than starting at the beginning of the day. This drew me in so much because I wanted to know what was going on.
Even though that cliff hanger that the chapter ended on left the sister in a bad light I still think that she has a great personality (she don't need no man).
The magic descriptions were quite stunning because they allowed me to really get a feel of what the magic system is like, even what it tastes like. I just loved that.
If you like magic, fantasy and great descriptions, then this looks like a book for you!
