First of all, what a gorgeous cover. I love the art, the fact the entire book is designed beautifully and even naked the book is stunning. Just an all round well made, well designed book.
Going into this I knew I'd love it. Sebastien De Castell is a wonderful writer, so easy to read and captivating and a joy to read.
I loved the characters in Spellslinger and how no-one is one dimensional. You think you like someone and then De Castell spins it around and you're left wondering why you liked them in the first place.
Reichis was a snarky, mean ball of fuzzy hate - and I adored him. He made me laugh out loud with his come-backs & comments and I can't wait to read more about him in future books.
I knocked half a star off however because I wanted more world building, especially from the Argosi. However, I'm hoping this will be explored more in the sequels.
In my opinion Sebastien De Castell can do no wrong and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommend if you want a fun, action packed read about an unchosen-chosen-one, his snarky sidekick squirrel-cat and a mysterious kickass female!
