This is about a young boy that is part of a magical family yet is struggling to get his own powers. Although this is a fantasy it is relatable as everyone feels like they are letting someone down at some point in their life. He feels like the black sheep of the family. Why is he different? Why can't he be like his sister? What will happen to him? Most of the question get answered throughout the story in ways you would never have expected. I loved that as I thought I had started to figure it all out, I actually hadn't.
As the story unfolds you start to fall more and more in love with the main character. You can really imagine how he feels. I'm glad I picked up on this with the first book in the series. I'm dying to find out what happens to them all next!!
