This was one of the best books I've read as Magic is suddenly looked at in a new way. I loved the kind of society and the twists towards the end. I especially love the moment where he shows the Lords Magi that he has passed his trials but ends up rejecting his family and his inheritance. Sadly it also means leaving the girl he loves, but not before making sure she passes her trials.
Also I loved how the stranger-Ferius- ended up being their main enemy but as she already has loads of debt piled up can't exact revenge.
