When you see the word magic, you expect some book where some person is introduced into a community of magic, before realising he is talented at something.(Like Harry Potter or The Summoner)

What surprise me about this book is that the book mainly involved Kellen born around magic, but, as the book continues, realises he is terrible at it and furthermore that his people are a bunch of evil people who stole it.

Another thing I like about the book is that life continuously throws problems at Kellen and makes existing ones more and more severe buy making them more mysterious or adding obstacles and enemies.

Best of all, I like how that there are no good qualities about Kellen - he has no talents and furthermore, is extremely unlucky. The fact that he uses pretty much only his brains and his mouth to solve his problems makes this book very special.

Looking forward to the next few books in the series! :)
