Having read the first instalment of this story in one sitting the day before, I very quickly picked up the sequel the following day and delved straight in.

The story continues on from where S.T.A.G.S finished and follows the lives of three main characters, Greer, Chanel and Shafeen, who are trying to come to terms of the drastic events that took place previously at Longcross Hall, whilst maintaining their studies for the upcoming exams required for entry in to University.

The synopsis does a great job in explaining what the story of the sequel is all about, so I won’t go into any more detail, as to do so would include certain spoilers. What I can say though, the sequel, compared to the first, was set at a much slower pace with the nitty gritty suspense happening in the later part of the storyline. If reading as a stand alone you might feel this to be tedious, but what this sequel does is set the reader up for a sure to be exploding finale. Do not let this deter you from reading D.O.G.S, as without the continuous sub plot that runs simultaneously through the sequels storyline, it would be hard to understand the intricate details of the dark order and what is/isn’t still going on.

Without ruining things for upcoming readers, the events and twists at the end of this captivating sequel have left me with a lot of questions that I am excited to find out the answers to in the next instalment. Although I expect the next to be the last, I for one will miss reading about the secrets and history of the privileged housed within the walls of STAGS.

In a play on words from Shakespeare himself...

“Dead or not dead, that is the question!?”
