This book follows on pretty much straight away from where the last one finished! We follow the three main characters (Greer, Nel and Shafeen) into a whole new twisty, turny plot based around a long forgotten & previously banished play. The play mysteriously gets delivered to Greer in installments under her bedroom door, but noone knows the true plot because all of the copies were burned in Elizabethan times?! Greer decides to direct the play at school for the first time in 400years as it's just the thing she needs to get her into Oxford! However, The play (The Isle of Dogs) wasn't destroyed for no reason! It is Infamous for being highly dangerous and treacherous. We don't fully understand the extent of the danger and sinister meanings behind it, until the trio find & crack the secret code placed upon the fifth and final Act!

Wowee I loved this book! It is so very clever in every sense. The amount of research that has gone into this plot makes it highly believable, and I felt that I was right there with the characters.
I grew to love Greer, Nel & Shafeen more than the first book because we get more depth to their relationships and personalities.
Greer is a real film buff & I love how the author seamlessly inserts film references all throughout the books! It really brings the whole thing to life for me, and wonderfully delivers what is essentially a plot around historical events right into the modern (Savage) world!

The ending is just as I had hoped. It's the right balance between wrapping up the storyline and leading us onto the next book, and I desperately hope it's not too long a wait for book three!
