What a stifling claustrophobic atmosphere in this community . There certainly seems to be a lot of distrust between all the residents . Clearly Ruby returning and acting as if nothing has happened is a little disturbing . The author has succeeded in portraying a feeling of unease and, for me, dread ! Everyone clearly has something to hide and do we have an unreliable narrator ? Can’t wait to read on .
