Once again Megan Miranda has written a brilliant mystery with plenty of tension from the start. In Such A Quiet Place Ruby Fletcher returns to Hollow's Edge just fourteen months after being convicted of the murder of her next door neighbours when her conviction is found to be unfair, the trial tainted and the verdict thrown out. When Ruby's father sold his house some years previously Ruby moved into a room in Harper Mash's house. Harper lived alone as her partner had left her and it seemed a good idea. None of the residents in Hollow's Edge expect Ruby to return after her release but she does, entering Harper's house very quietly and taking her by surprise. Following the murder of Brandon and Fiona Truett nobody wants to stay in Hollow's Edge but it's impossible to find buyers so most of them are still there and many of them suspect Ruby was responsible for the Truett's murder despite her release. I can't wait to read the rest of this book and discover if Ruby is guilty of murder and it was only clever work from her legal team that secured her release or is someone else guilty.
