Such a Quiet Place reminds me of a Nordic Noir style drama.
Ruby Fletcher is released from prison following a mistrial but something about the way the storyteller and housemate, Harper, describes her makes me think although Ruby is not guilty of murder, she is not as innocent as the reader may think. The way she returns, keen to be out and about and asking questions seeking answers that Harper avoids all add to feeling ambivalent towards Ruby.
I like the fact that a character is telling the story, it makes it more personal. But there is a secret to be uncovered in this 'lovely place.' A couple were murdered and Ruby went to prison but then was able to return home. So the question remains, who did it?!
