I really enjoyed reading this. There is an overwhelming sense of tension in the area as the town comes to terms with Ruby being released from prison. It becomes clear that many of her former friends and acquaintances had testified against her at her trial for murder but now she is back as if nothing had happened. It's hard to understand why Harper just submissively allows Ruby to move back into her home, taking her clothes and asserting herself. You get a real sense that something bad is going to happen soon. I can't wait to read more.
