Absolutely loved this book! I genuinely couldn't put it down. The story felt like it was just steadily building the tension throughout the entire book. There were very few moments where the momentum dropped.
As soon as I started to read I wanted to find out if Ruby Fletcher was indeed guilty, and, if not, who had killed the Truetts.
I enjoyed the writing style. The narrative is all from Harper's perspective. You really get to understand her character and follow along her journey to discover the truth about the murder and about her friend.
The setting of a small closed community in a forest by a lake over the summer really lends itself to and enhances the story. You definitely get the sense that everyone knows everyone, but there are still lots of secrets lingering in the trees.
Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys thrillers. Can't wait to read more from Megan Miranda.
