This was an interesting thriller that was a little slow to begin with. I found the first part of the book to take it's time before any action or drama really took place. The second half of the book picked up the pace and had me turning the pages to the end.

When I first saw the book cover I fell in love with its design and after reading the first impression I was so excited to read on and have the chance to read this book ahead of publication.

The storyline appealed to me straight away with the book's focus on Ruby returning to Hollow's edge after being convicted of a double murder. The book throughout had me wondering her innocence or guilt as well as the part of everyone in the community.

The book also had an interesting array of characters, although I did feel that Harper's character could of been a bit stronger. It appeared that everyone had their own secrets and would of liked this element to have been explored further.

I did like the little notices from the community message board dotted throughout and would of also liked to hear a few of the other characters's perspectives too.

Additionally, I feel the ending could of been expanded and a little more surprising. I felt the ending was a bit flat compared with the rest of the book.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this and it is a good slow burning thriller. This was my first book by this author and it wont be the last.

On a final note thank you to the author, Megan Miranda, and to Readers First for a free copy of this book and I'm leaving a review voluntarily.
