I loved the way this book made me question everything and suspect everyone. Megan Miranda has such an enthralling, suspenseful way of writing and this slow burning thriller was exactly what I needed to get me out of a reading slump. I loved the quiet idyllic setting of Hollows Edge and could really visualise the scenes which made it even more thrilling and absorbing for me.
I relished the creepiness that swept in for the last 30% or so of the book, loved the twists and turns it took me on and genuinely had no idea where the book was going towards the end. It was interesting to read a book centred around neighbourhood pack mentality, being something that is much more common than one would think, witch hunts develop from rumour and gossip which I found fascinating in this novel from the start. Not quite top marks as some of the characters were slightly unlikable but still a fantastic read to pick up!
